Careers at Sage Seeds

Sage Seeds is a family-owned dispensary in Bellerose, Queens, named for the Bakshi family's daughter, Sejal "Sage." We are always glad to meet good people who care about doing this work the right way. If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

How we hire and how we pay

We built Sage Seeds to feel like a neighborhood shop, and that starts with the team. Our budtenders are paid hourly, not on commission. There is no quota and no pressure to upsell. Their job is to listen, answer honestly, and help each customer find what is right for them, never to push the most expensive thing on the shelf. We think that is better for customers and better for the people who work here.

The kind of people we look for

We hire for character first and train the rest. The people who do well at Sage Seeds tend to:

  • Treat customers and teammates with genuine respect
  • Stay curious and want to learn about the products
  • Communicate clearly and honestly
  • Take age verification, compliance, and safety seriously
  • Show up reliably and care about the details

Cannabis experience is welcome but not required. A good attitude and a willingness to learn matter more.

New York requirements

Working in a licensed New York dispensary comes with rules. You must be 21 or older, and any New York State cannabis-worker permit or certification requirements that apply to the role must be met. We will walk you through what that involves.
